Barnaby, Arnason headed to Edmonton?

Since last time nobody believed any source I mentioned until later, I'll just say I got it from a reliable source that a deal is brewing between the Blackhawks and Oilers which goes along these lines:

To Edm:
Matthew Barnaby
Tyler Arnason

To Chi:
Georges Laraque
Marty Reasoner
Dick Tarnstrom

The deal in hand closes up the shit disturbing energy guy the Oilers are looking for, and the potential scoring winger.

Take it for what it's worth.

Gives the Oilers what they need. The Oil add some energy on the 4rth line and a center that can help with goal production on the 3nd line and could also rotate 3rd/4rth line duties with Peca. The Oil drop an ineffective Laraque and lose an extra body on D. I like Reasoner but I would like Arnason more.

I absolutely fucking despise Barnaby, and not even having him on our team would change that. A Jarko Ruutu, sure...but please no Barnaby. That said, I sympathize with the realistic idea that we could use an agitator.

I have some trouble believing that Reasoner is somebody that will go. Personally, I think he's way too valuable. Even as a shot blocker alone...he stops more than our goalies (though sometimes he seems to be a magnet for pucks hitting him in the offensive zone as well). If those are the players they're really going after (Barnaby, Arnason), I'd far rather they unload one of our goalies - not Reasoner - in the deal.

My feelings on the matter, for what they're worth...an interesting rumour though. I guess we'll know if it amounts to anything in less than a week.
