Blue Jackets Berard tests positive for steroids

During the summer's US Olympic team evaluation Berard tested positive for the substance nandrolone, an anabolic steroid which is on the IOC banned substance list.

Makes you wonder how much more of a pussy he'd be clean.

But in all seriousness it has horrible implications for the NHL. It may not just be the guys you'd put money on - the Scott Stevens' (pre-retirement), the Paul Laus, Eric Cairns, etc. It could be any random player including skilled offensive defensemen.

I can't see this turning out very well for the NHL. Testing will probably go through the roof and shocking revalations to follow.

I could be wrong.

Define through the roof...do you think it will be Dick Pound-like 1/3 of all players that get caught?

No, not at all. Or maybe it will be.. shit. Who would of thought of all people it would have been Berard?

Fuck, I could have probably got 600-1 odds on that in Vegas, but 30-1 odds on BrindAmour
2-1 odds on Brashear.

But Berard? That just says, it could be anyone in the NHL.
